Job Title: Director of Purchasing &   Inventory 

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: VP of Pharmacy Resources

SUMMARY:

As the Director of Purchasing & Inventory, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of medication purchasing and inventory control across all MedWiz pharmacy locations. This includes monitoring inventory levels, implementing efficient inventory systems, managing teams, working cross departmentally with both operations and finance, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, supplier management, personnel management, and negotiations. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The functions are as follows but not limited to: 


- Manage supplier contracts as an intermediary between the finance and operations departments

- Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock availability to meet customer demands while supporting company cost of goods and cash flow improvement

- Analyze data to identify trends and make informed decisions regarding inventory management

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and plan for future inventory needs

- Provide support to customer service when it pertains to item availability and pricing

- Oversee the purchasing, receiving, storage, and distribution of inventory across all MedWiz pharmacy locations

- Have input into and responsibility for the enhancements of the MedWiz perpetual inventory management software

- Train and supervise purchasing staff members

- 20% Travel Expected

Sitting for extended periods of time, computer usage including data entry for much of the workday, regular phone communication, handling paperwork and documentation, and participating in meetings. 

Requirements

  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 


Education & Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.

· Proven experience in purchasing and inventory management, preferably in a pharmacy or healthcare environment.

· Strong knowledge of financial modeling principles related to inventory management.

· Familiarity with warehouse management systems and other inventory software.

· Experience in sourcing products from suppliers and managing supplier relationships

· Experience in managing teams across multiple locations.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
