What You’ll Do

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you’ll play a key role in keeping our operations running safely and efficiently.

Your day may include:

  • Operating equipment such as front-end loaders, dozers, haul trucks, and excavators
  • Performing routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
  • Keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently
  • Working with teammates, supervisors, and customers in a professional and respectful manner
  • Using problem-solving skills and out-of-the-box thinking to tackle daily challenges
  • Jumping in to help the team with additional tasks when needed

What You Bring to the Team

  • Experience operating heavy construction equipment
  • 1–2 years of preventive maintenance or lube experience preferred
  • Prior work in a mining or quarry environment is a plus
  • Understanding of equipment operation and maintenance
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and prioritize safe work practices
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends when needed

Work Environment

This is a hands-on, active role where work may be performed indoors or outdoors in conditions that include heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust. You'll be operating heavy equipment and machinery in a dynamic quarry and plant environment while following all York Building Products safety policies.


Physical Requirements

This role requires:

• Walking, sitting, bending, and stooping
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
