Manufacturing Engineering Shop Intern
Location: Johnson Creek, WI
Employment Type: 1st shift, 6am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday
Authorization: Applicants must be Authorized to work in the U.S without sponsorship.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical support to machinists, including troubleshooting program issues and assisting with tool selection.
- Prepare machines for production by setting up tooling, securing work pieces, and verifying machine readiness.
- Train and mentor machine operators on proper machine operation, processes, and best practices.
- Support and improve machining changeovers by standardizing processes and reducing downtime.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Maintain tooling inventory, storage, and documentation to support consistent, high-quality production.
- Work closely with supervisors, leads, and engineering to resolve machining and quality issues.
Requirements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in machining, fabricating, welding, and metal finishing.
- Experience with multi-axis CNC lathe and mill setup.
- Proficiency with Mastercam (Version 2020 or newer) preferred.
- Working knowledge of G-code programming and AutoCAD preferred.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools for documentation and communication.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
