Hydrotech- Isaacs is seeking a curious, motivated Engineering Co-Op to join our Industrial Hydraulics and Application Engineering team. This role is designed for students who want hands-on engineering experience in a real-world manufacturing and automation environment—working alongside experienced engineers, technicians, and project teams.
This co-op provides exposure to hydraulic systems, electrical controls, system assembly, field service, CAD support, and application engineering. If you enjoy problem-solving, being hands-on, and learning how machines really work, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills.
What You’ll Do
Rotational Learning & Development
- Participate in onboarding, safety training, and engineering team introductions.
- Learn foundational hydraulic and fluid power concepts (pressure, flow, schematics, etc.).
- Build knowledge of Hydrotech product lines and common industrial applications.
- Work with an assigned mentor to set goals and track progress throughout the semester.
Assembly & Shop Support
- Assist in building hydraulic power units, plumbing, hose routing, and system startup.
- Conduct basic inspections, leak checks, and build verification tasks.
- Support electrical panel wiring, continuity checks, and basic troubleshooting.
- Help assemble modular guarding using aluminum framing and layout drawings.
- Document build issues and identify opportunities for standardization and improvement.
Service & Technical Support
- Assist with teardown, inspection, and diagnosis of hydraulic components.
- Observe service calls and support troubleshooting efforts.
- Help collect technical data and document repair findings or system configurations.
Application Engineering Support
- Review hydraulic circuits, update schematics, and assist with concept development.
- Support creation and revision of bills of materials, drawings, and project documents.
- Use vendor sizing tools and configurators for valves, pumps, motors, cylinders, etc.
- Assist with CAD updates (AutoCAD or similar) for schematics and layouts.
- Participate in engineering reviews and technical team discussions.
Administrative & Project Support
- Maintain organized files, notes, and engineering documentation.
- Assist with developing templates, checklists, and standard work tools.
- Support internal analysis projects (quote history, costing, design libraries, etc.).
- Present a summary of learning and project contributions at semester’s end
