POSITION TITLE: Summer Food Program Site Compliance Monitor
RESPONSIBLE TO: Youth and Family Programs Manager
HRS PER WEEK: 15 hours
DATES OF POSITION: June 11, 2026 – August 21, 2026
COMPENSATION: $18.50/hour
SUMMARY OF POSITION: This is a part-time, temporary position. The Food for Lane County (FFLC) Summer Food Program provides children with nutritious meals when school meals are not available during the summer. The Site Monitors use a personal vehicle to visit Summer Food Program sites across Lane County to ensure meals are served according to program requirements, and accurate records are maintained.
This position observes meal service and reviews site documentation to ensure compliance with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Summer Food Service Program guidelines. This position helps identify potential issues at meal sites and provides guidance or corrective actions to ensure program standards are met.
PRIMARY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and prepare for scheduled site monitoring visits
- Observe meal service to ensure meals are served according to USDA Summer Food Service Program, Lane County Health, and Food for Lane County program requirements
- Count and verify complete meals served to participants and staff
- Review required site documentation including meal count sheets and daily production logs
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of required program paperwork and documentation
- Assess whether sites have corrected issues identified during previous monitoring visits
- Conduct follow-up monitoring visits as necessary
- Provide training and technical assistance to Site Supervisors when needed
- Prepare monitoring reports and communicate findings with the Youth and Family Programs Manager
- Perform administrative tasks including collecting and compiling documentation, reviewing information for accuracy, contributing to reports, and responding to phone and email inquiries
OTHER TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Serve as a Site Supervisor when needed
- Support staff with logging and managing donations
- Assist with communication with program partners
- Assist with meal preparation as needed
- Maintains a professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty

- Perform other tasks as requested by supervisor
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: We value all forms of experience including, unpaid work, lived experience, education, and training.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to all participants
- Ability to work independently
- Current driver’s license with good driving record, current auto insurance, and ability to use personal vehicle for business
- Ability to safely lift 40 pounds
- Ability to obtain a current Food Handlers card
- Ability to use personal cell phone (with provided stipend)
