JOB PURPOSE:
The Catering Bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to event guests, oversees stock of liquor and bar supplies, and ensures the needs of guests are met.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily set-up and breakdown of beverage products for catered events.
- Receive drink orders from guests.
- Prepare and serve liquor, mixed drinks, beer, wine, and nonalcoholic drinks as ordered.
- Take and process payments as necessary.
- Ensure that fruit and other garnishes and ingredients are prepared ahead of opening of the bar.
- Maintain bar spaces ensuring they are clean and organized.
- Attractively display bar products, glasses, and bottles
- Ensure customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo ID’s
- Use proper judgment and discretion, and when necessary, refuse service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive.
- Communicate effectively with guests and managers to handle last minute requests.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of drink preparation and service
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and presentation skills with focus on service customers.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Completion of mixology, barkeeping, or other related training required.
- At least one year of related experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:??
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms.??
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead.??
- Ability to understand and communicate with customers to complete orders quickly and accurately.
- Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds at a time.
- Non-slip shoes are required during shift.
