POSITION SUMMARY

A Senior Project Designer will take a lead role in designing and executing high-end hospitality projects, including hotels, resorts, restaurants, and other guest-facing spaces. This role will manage the design process from conceptualization to final implementation, collaborating closely with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of successful hospitality projects, a deep understanding of the industry, and the ability to balance creative vision with practical execution.

Requirements

Role Responsibilities 

  • Lead the design development of hospitality projects, ensuring alignment with the client’s brand, vision, and project goals.
  • Conceptualize and create interior design solutions that enhance guest experiences, optimize space functionality, and support operational requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive design presentations, including mood boards, conceptual sketches, 3D renderings, material selections, and custom furniture designs.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure that the design is realized according to specifications, budget, and timeline.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing design excellence with attention to project constraints such as budget and time.
  • Select and specify furnishings, finishes, materials, and lighting that meet the design vision and quality standards, while also considering cost-effectiveness and durability for hospitality use.
  • Review and approve design documentation, including drawings, schedules, specifications, and other project deliverables.
  • Ensure that all projects comply with building codes, local regulations, and brand standards, while maintaining a high level of design integrity.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations.
  • Mentor and provide leadership to junior designers and interns, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Stay current on the latest design trends, materials, technologies, and best practices in the hospitality industry.
  • Contribute to the development of new business opportunities by participating in client pitches and project proposals.

Role Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in interior design, with at least 4 years in a senior role within the hospitality industry (hotels, resorts, restaurants, etc.).
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Figma, Specs Source, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • NCIDQ certification or other relevant professional qualifications preferred.
  • A passion for hospitality design and a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.


Skills

  • Proven track record of successfully designing and delivering hospitality projects from concept to completion.
  • Expertise in space planning, materials selection, lighting design, and furniture design tailored for the hospitality sector.
  • Strong understanding of the hospitality design process, including knowledge of building codes, ADA compliance, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects while maintaining attention to detail, quality, and deadlines.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and client management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and manage external consultants, contractors, and vendors.

Salary Description
$88,000 - $105,000
