Server-TEMPORARY FOR MASTER'S
Description

 

Crowne Plaza North Augusta is seeking energetic and service-driven Temporary Servers to join our team for Masters Week. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, ensuring guests have a memorable dining experience during one of the busiest and most exciting times of the year.


The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, and thrives under pressure, with a strong focus on teamwork and guest satisfaction. Open availability is required, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended hours throughout Masters Week.

Requirements


  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the POS system.
  • Serve food and drinks in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and dietary options.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by checking in throughout the meal and addressing any needs.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure correct and timely order delivery.
  • Handle payments, issue receipts, return change, or process credit cards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tables, stations, and service areas.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Greet all guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner and assist the host or hostess in seating guests as needed.
  • Present menu, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food, service, appropriate wines, and food preparation.
  • Memorize menu selections and wines, including being familiar with daily specials and basic ingredients.
  • Use proper verbiage and etiquette, including serving ladies first.
  • Write the order in an order notebook. Repeat the order back to guests for clarity.
  • Relay orders to the kitchen and service bar utilizing the point-of-sale system.
  • Observe guests to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when the meal has been completed for guest checkout.
  • Total the bill and accept payment or refer the guest to the cashier.
  • Ladle soup, portion pies and desserts, and brew coffee.
  • Notify a manager immediately of any guest complaints.
  • Use proper etiquette guidelines for seating guests.
  • Practice and observe all safety rules and procedures.
  • Assist all service personnel in any duties as requested.
  • Maintain and follow all cash handling procedures. 
  • Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts required.
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills.
  • Friendly, professional attitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods and carry trays or plates.
  • Knowledge of POS systems is a plus.
  • Certification in food safety and responsible alcohol service (e.g., ServSafe, TIPS) preferred.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Ability to accurately report information. 
  • Ability to scrupulously follow all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Attend required meetings.
