Under the direction of the Data Analytics Manager, the Financial Analyst recommends and implements analytical solutions, metrics, and reporting to advance the LCI analytical and reporting capabilities to support decision making.
This position oversees the collection, formulation and monitoring of key performance metrics and data sources such as utilization and unit rate data, external data warehouses, and more that is relevant to the operation of Lakeland Care. This position manages monthly analysis of metrics to identify variances and trends, assists in financial reporting, and conducts various analytical assignments as needed and makes accompanying recommendations to various levels of leadership. The Financial Analyst works in collaboration with management, to integrate analysis and provide accurate, relevant, timely, and complete business and fiscal intelligence to organizational decision makers.
Essential Competencies:
- Oversee tracking of key metrics, performance indicators, and reports for contributions to and use by LCI management in assessing its performance in meeting its business, financial and strategic goals.
- Assist with Development of financial projections and build financial models.
- Contribute to the Business Plan, RFP, and other similar narratives and analyses.
- Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Perform research, analysis, and other duties as required.
- Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, relevant, timely, and complete.
- Synthesize and structure data to support data functions throughout the organization.
- Exhibit responsibility, resiliency and sound judgement when dealing with organizational challenges.
- Collaborate and serve as cross-functional resource to deliver root cause analysis and address key business drivers.
- Contribute to ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations.
- Write and revise policies and procedures as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business, other related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (includes knowledge, skills, and abilities).
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a position requiring development of progressively more complex analyses and reporting required.
- Knowledge or experience with techniques needed to design and build systems to integrate data from multiple systems to facilitate reporting and analysis required.
- Ability to propose and develop metrics designed to meet and influence organizational goals required.
- Experience with advanced level of Microsoft Excel required.
- Experience with ERP solutions a plus.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical and financial analysis required.
- Ability to summarize complex and technical information for lay and expert audiences required.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills required.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, evolving and team oriented environment with multiple priorities and objectives required.
- Knowledge or experience with managed care and insurance industry operations and functions preferred; knowledge of Family Care program a plus.
- Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and proof of adequate insurance required.
