Mike’s Bikes is seeking both aspiring and experienced hands-on individuals to join our dynamic Tech Department as a Service Writer. This role is the Eyes, Heart, and mouthpiece of our tech department. Our Service Writers listen to customers concerns, problem solve potential causes, and efficiently organize the workflow for our technicians.

WHAT DOES YOUR DAY JOB LOOK LIKE:
- Take care of our customers by listening to their needs, checking over their bikes and scheduling their repair
- Understand the needs of our customers and proactively suggest products that will improve their riding experience
- Manage the workflow for all of our technicians
- Communicate with customers in person and via our digital system to provide repair updates
- Repair a wide range of bikes—from brand-new race machines to well-worn daily commuters
- Learn and follow safety procedures for tools, equipment, and cleaning materials

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
- 1+ years of experience as a professional Bicycle Mechanic
- A quick learner with technical aptitude and great communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working with your hands and using tools regularly
- Physically up for it! Lifting bikes and moving around the store is part of the gig
- Gaining the confidence of our customers by actively listening to their needs and addressing their concerns
- Capable of standing for long periods and performing repetitive motions
- Motivated to succeed in a goal-oriented, fast-paced environment
- Flexible and available to work weekends
HOURLY PAY RANGE: This compensation package will be dependent on experience, qualifications, and industry experience. Entry level candidates can expect to make at least $20/hr. plus a bi-weekly bonus potential of $250. With some experience, you could potentially earn between $21/hr.-$24/hr. with the $250 bi-weekly bonus potential.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English is required, ability to also speak spanish is a plus. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.
