America's Auto Auction Toledo is looking for a self motivated Maintenance Tech / Janitorial Tech to join our growing team!
The Maintenance Technician supports auction operations by performing general facility, building, and grounds maintenance to ensure a safe, functional, and professional environment. This role is responsible for preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and upkeep of buildings, equipment, and outdoor areas. The Maintenance Technician helps ensure operational readiness by addressing facility needs promptly and supporting safety and compliance standards across the auction property.
This is a full time position Monday-Friday from 8am - 5pm.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs routine maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, and operational areas, including minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks.
- Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and addresses maintenance needs to reduce equipment or facility downtime.
- Maintains grounds and exterior areas, including signage, fencing, lighting, and general site appearance.
- Responds to maintenance requests and prioritizes work orders to support operational needs.
- Assists with setup and repair of auction-related equipment, fixtures, and facility components.
- Maintains tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in safe and organized condition.
- Reports safety hazards, structural concerns, or equipment issues to management promptly.
- Supports compliance with facility safety standards and operational procedures.
- Assists with seasonal or special projects related to facility improvements or site readiness.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of building maintenance, repair techniques, and use of hand and power tools.
- Applies strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
- Communicates clearly and professionally with supervisors and operational teams.
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks and respond to urgent maintenance needs.
- Works independently while supporting a team-based operations environment.
- Demonstrates reliability and accountability in completing assigned work.
- Maintains awareness of safety procedures and proper equipment use.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building repair, or general maintenance roles.
- Experience in warehouse, industrial, automotive, or commercial facility environments preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to use ladders, tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
