Graphic Design Intern

  

Looking to move beyond class projects and build a portfolio with real impact? Animal Friends is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to join our Communications team and contribute to high-visibility campaigns across print, digital and events. This role is ideal for students with a solid design foundation who are ready to apply their skills in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

  

Responsibilities

  • Design polished, on-brand graphics for social media, email campaigns, print materials and presentations
  • Contribute concept ideas for adoption promotions, fundraising campaigns and special events
  • Assist with layout and production of digital and print publications
  • Support photo shoots and assist with basic photo editing and asset preparation
  • Help maintain brand consistency and visual standards across all communications

Requirements
  • Student (18+) in graphic design or related field with a strong portfolio
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience with photo editing, image retouching and preparing files for print and  digital use
  • Strong understanding of layout, typography and visual hierarchy
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and take creative direction
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Comfortable around dogs, cats and rabbits
  • Genuine interest in Animal Friends’ mission

Additional Details

  • Flexible schedule; some evening/weekend events
  • Local travel may be required; reliable transportation preferred

Please note this is an unpaid internship. Animal Friends does not offer stipends for housing or travel. Students are encouraged to apply for resources outside of Animal Friends to support their internship as there are no internal sources of support available unless specifically listed.


Interns can receive academic credit from their university or college for their internships and many U.S. colleges and universities will recognize academic work performed while interning with Animal Friends.
