Position Overview


We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented undergraduate to join our Research & Development team for Summer 2026. This paid, on-site internship in West Valley City, Utah, offers hands-on experience in ceramics processing and biomedical product development within a collaborative applied-engineering environment. Under the supervision of R&D Engineering, the intern will contribute to technically rigorous projects supporting product development and process optimization. Candidates must reliably commute to the facility.


What You’ll Do

  • Design and plan-controlled experiments for ceramic materials and processing, including defining variables, controls, and success criteria.
  • Execute laboratory experiments, collect high-quality data, and maintain accurate experimental records.
  • Analyze and interpret data using statistical and visualization tools to identify trends and inform decisions. 
  • Support process development and equipment validation efforts by troubleshooting, documenting changes, and recommending optimizations. 
  • Prepare clear, formal technical reports and present findings and actionable recommendations to the engineering team. 
  • Learn regulatory research practices; prepare and maintain Device History
  • Records and related documentation, capture invention disclosures and IP filings, and support cross-functional product development activities. 

Projects will focus on improving material performance, manufacturing efficiency, and product reliability within biomedical applications.

Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Interest in ceramics processing, materials characterization, and biomedical product development 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a small engineering team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen (required due to ITAR restrictions)
  • Must be able to reliably commute to West Valley City, UT
