Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Specialist supports production operations by ensuring manufacturing processes run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards. This role is responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues, optimizing workflows, analyzing production data, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to maintain high operational performance.
Essential Functions of Position:
Production Support & Process Improvement
· Monitor daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals are met
· Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to increase throughput and reduce waste.
· Assist with the development, documentation, and optimization of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Support continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S)
Equipment & Technical Support
· Troubleshoot equipment performance issues and collaborate with maintenance technicians to resolve downtime.
· Assist in equipment setup, calibration, and qualification activities.
· Recommend upgrades or process changes to improve equipment reliability.
Quality & Compliance
· Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards (ISO, GMP, OSHA, etc., depending on environment).
· Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) initiatives.
· Conduct in-process inspections and review production records for accuracy and completeness.
Training & Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Train operators and new team members on equipment operation, safety practices, and SOPs.
· Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to support successful production.
· Participate in cross-functional meetings to share insights and drive operational improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (preferred).
· 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production support role.
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma tools, or other continuous improvement methods is a plus. Skills & Competencies**
· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
· Ability to interpret technical drawings, SOPs, and process flow documents.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
· Proficiency with production software, ERP systems, or manufacturing data tools.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day.
· The ability to work on a computer for up to 8 hours a day.
· Being mindful of safety and use proper PPE when required
· May require standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs
· Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to production equipment, noise, and physical activity.
