Deburr Operator
Description

Nemco Food Equipment is committed to the manufacturing and on-time delivery of these piece parts to the assembly operations with a very experienced staff of fabricators who can operate a variety of work centers able to fabricate sheet steel into complex parts. In this job, you will work in a production environment, continuously working with hand tools. After an initial training period, productivity and quality requirements must be met. Durations of set-ups and run times will vary. Tasks require a moderate degree of eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion. 


The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Deburring of parts using hand tools such as sanders and power tools such as pedestal belt sanders, Dynafile, bench grinders and automated deburring machines.  
  • Acid cleaning of specific parts.  
  • Handling of air tools and lubrication. 
  • Identifying need for, and changing dull tools. 
  • Perform break out operations from the laser cutter, separating the pieces cut from the steel blanks. 
  • Other responsibilities outlined by your shift leader.
     

If this job is as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have, or the initiative to learn, the following: 

  • Ability to set up and operate metal finishing machinery. 
  • Ability to read blueprints and to follow specific written instructions and procedures. 
  • Ability to keep workspace clean and organized. 

Relevant Work Experience:
Experience as a machine operator in a production environment preferred. 

  

Work Schedule:

  • This is a 3rd shift position.  You will start on 1st shift and after an initial training period, productivity and quality requirements must be met. Training is expected to last about 3 weeks, at which time you will move to 3rd shift.  
  • Sunday night – Friday morning (9:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m.; 8-hour shift 20 minute paid lunch) Subject to Change
  • Occasional overtime is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
Lifting: Frequently lifting items weighing 5 lbs. to 10 lbs.; occasionally lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Walking: Frequent walking short distances (less than 1/8 mile).
Carrying: Occasional carrying of bulky items weighing up to 50 lbs. short distances.
Pushing: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.
Pulling: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.
Bending: Occasional bending required to perform a variety of tasks.
Reaching: Frequent reaching to load and unload parts from fixture in machine, tubs, carts, or pallets.
Handling: Frequent handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 10 lbs. 

Gripping: Frequent gripping of parts while deburring. 

Salary Description
$18.00 per hour plus $2.00/hr shift premium
