Description
The purpose of this position is to provide entertainment and cultivate engaging experience for patrons and staff at McDivitt and to represent the organization in a positive manner.
This position will be flexible when needed; variable some nights and weekends; minimum 2 hours for any event.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Display enthusiasm and high energy at all times to keep the entertainment level high.
- Meet and greet attendees of events.
- Preserve the identity of the mascot without deviating from established character including body language/mannerisms, attitude, fan interaction, and McDivitt representation.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Take care of the costume and props when in your possession.
- Understand and perform a series of non-verbal communications signals to be used with the mascot handler in public, e.g, the mascot actor will have a signal when he/she needs to be escorted away from the area. The handler will have a series of signals or code words that the mascot actor understands to communicate information such as a child is scared; back away from the crowd, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be in good physical condition and able to lift and wear the costume (approximately 10-20 pounds).
- Ideal height for correct costume fit would be between 5’9” and 5’11”.
- Dance or other performance experience preferred.
- Previous experience as a mascot actor is preferred.
- Willing to travel throughout Colorado Springs, Pueblo & Denver metro area.

Compensation & Benefits
$250.00 Flat fee for the day/event
