PURPOSE STATEMENT:
This Staff Accountant position will focus primarily on accounts payable and the full cycle vendor invoice process including verification, coding, and payment execution. The staff accountant will also assist in the month end close and provide the necessary support to the Accounting Manager and Finance team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO (MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Verify the accuracy of vendor invoices and confirm that the correct general ledger account codes are used.
- Review and obtain appropriate documentation and approval of invoices.
- Verify and process PO invoices using a three-way match for accuracy.
- Open mail and scan invoices for processing.
- Reconciling vendor statements.
- Review company credit card transactions to ensure proper GL coding, proper receipts attached, and expense explanation memos are included
- Investigate and solve vendor inquiries/disputes.
- Research open PO’s
- Set up new vendors into NetSuite and Ramp.
- Prepare wire/ACH request forms.
- Prepare/Issue W-9 and 1099s
- Maintain records of Certificate of Liability Insurance/Resale Certificate.
- Respond to external vendors and internal managers regarding all aspects of the accounts payable process.
- Prepare the month end close AP related reconciliations and prepare expense accruals.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED (KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
· Bachelor’s degree required.
· 2-3+ years of Accounting Payable, Accounts Receivable; Accounting General.
· Ability to operate independently with good judgment, make sound business decisions aligned with the BRH strategy.
· Advanced computer skills: MS Office, including Excel and Power Point, and Oracle NetSuite.
· Punctual and reliable in work attendance.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal teams, vendors, and carriers.
· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail.
· Proactive, deadline driven in completing tasks and meeting deadlines
· Strongly motivated and shows professional initiative.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Sitting for long periods of time.
· Repetitive tasks such as typing and extended periods of computer screen time.
· Handling stress with composure.
