Job Summary

Ready to keep things moving? As a Forklift Operator / Laborer, you’ll play a key role in our daily operations by safely loading, unloading, moving, and organizing materials. This hands-on position helps ensure products are prepared accurately and efficiently for shipment while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.


What You’ll Do

  • Operate assigned forklift equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload materials from various types of trucks.
  • Organize and stage materials in logical order for shipment. 
  • Verify load accuracy while working closely with Supervisors, Customer Service Representatives, and Sales teams
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and report any issues promptly. 
  • Follow all Federal, State, Local, and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist with additional duties as needed to keep operations running smoothly.

What We’re Looking For

  • Prior forklift operating experience required.
  • Ability to work extended hours when needed to support production demands. 
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures
  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions, including picking and loading tickets. 
  • A dependable team player who takes pride in accuracy, safety, and productivity

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in accordance with York Building Products safety policies.
  • Duties may be performed indoors and outdoors, requiring exposure to weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, wind, dust, and other elements
  • Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment and machinery

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to climb in and out of equipment repeatedly
  • Physical demands include walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds
