Position Overview
We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join an acute care hospital environment. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care and supporting patients requiring both invasive and noninvasive ventilation.
The Respiratory Therapist will perform diagnostic testing, administer therapies, and collaborate with the care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Schedule & Employment Details
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Shift: Nights
- Weekend Requirement: Rotating Weekends
Compensation
Competitive Pay Based on Experience
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document patient respiratory assessments
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate respiratory therapy needs
- Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen and aerosol medications
- Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation
- Assist with airway management and artificial airway placement
- Monitor patient response and intervene as necessary
- Assist with transport of ventilator-dependent patients
- Respond to emergent situations and support resuscitation efforts
Qualifications
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Completion of a two-year AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associate Degree or equivalent)
Required Experience (Non-Negotiable):
- Must have at least 6 months of recent acute care RRT experience
Certifications (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment start date
- ACLS within 6 months of employment start date
- PALS within 6 months of employment start date
- NRP within 6 months of employment start date
