Description
The Summer Tennis Staff member plays a key supporting role within the Racquets Department, assisting in the delivery of high-quality tennis programming and club operations. This position works closely with the Director of Racquets and Assistant Professional to ensure an exceptional experience for members of all ages and skill levels.
This is a hands-on, active role ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about tennis, enjoy working with people, and thrive in a fast-paced club environment.
Key Responsibilities
Program Support
- Assist with junior and adult clinics, camps, and private lessons
- Help organize drills, feed balls, and maintain a positive, energetic atmosphere
- Support on-court instruction under the direction of the professional staff
Member Experience
- Provide a welcoming and professional presence for all members and guests
- Assist with check-ins, court assignments, and general inquiries
- Foster a fun, inclusive, and engaging environment on and off the court
Court & Facility Operations
- Set up and break down courts for clinics, lessons, and events
- Ensure courts are clean, safe, and properly equipped (nets, balls, carts, etc.)
- Assist with ball collection and equipment organization
Events & Programming
- Support racquets events, mixers, and tournaments
- Assist with scoring, scheduling, and event logistics
- Help create a lively and social atmosphere during club events
Requirements
Qualifications
- Prior tennis experience required; competitive playing experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of tennis rules, scoring, and drills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Energetic, reliable, and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Experience working with children is a plus
- Willing to learn court maintenance of Har-Tru Clay Courts
Physical Requirements
- Ability to be active for extended periods in outdoor conditions
- Capable of lifting and carrying equipment (ball carts, baskets, etc.)
- Comfortable working in summer heat and varying weather conditions

Salary Description
$15-$30/hour
