POSITION SUMMARY:
The Repair Technician is responsible for the overall inspection and repair of valves and products to ensure quality products are sent to customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Disassemble valves and parts in order to prep for inspection.
- Prep valves and parts for reassembly in order to test.
- Troubleshoot to figure out problems with items that won’t test.
- Phosphate product as per Work Instructions when required.
- Mount and dismount actuators from repairs.
- Keep work areas and tools clean and safe.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year of valve technician experience preferred.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
- Must be able to operate forklift.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must have ability to multi-task.
- Must be detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Environment: Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor shop environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
Physical: Primary functions require physical ability and mobility to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; too infrequently climb on ladders or stairs; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight; to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel toe shoes and safety glasses, must be worn at all times while in the shop.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
All employees are to be indoctrinated in the QMS within sixty (60) days of hire.
