Description

A screen-printing press operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining screen printing equipment used to transfer designs onto various materials such as apparel, signage, promotional products, and more. Their primary role is to ensure high-quality and accurate printing results while adhering to production deadlines. 

        

Job Summary- As a press operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining screen printing machinery to produce high-quality prints on a variety of materials. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment will be essential to the success of our printing operations.

        

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and prepare screen printing press for production runs, including selecting appropriate screens, inks, and other necessary materials.
  • Inspect screens for any defects or damage and repair or replace them as needed.
  • Mix and prepare inks according to color specifications and printing requirements.
  • Load materials to be printed onto the press, ensuring proper alignment and registration.
  • Adjust and calibrate press settings, such as pressure, speed, and temperature, to achieve desired print quality.
  • Operate the screen-printing press, monitor print runs, and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the printing process, such as registration errors, ink smudging, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on the printing equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
  • Maintain inventory of printing supplies and materials, and place orders when necessary.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.


Requirements

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a screen-printing press operator or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of screen-printing techniques, equipment, and processes.
  • Proficient in setting up and operating screen-printing machinery, including manual and automatic presses.
  • Knowledge of ink mixing and color matching.
  • Ability to read and interpret job orders and technical specifications.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent color perception and visual acuity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good time management skills and ability to work under pressure to meet production deadlines.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to work in hot and cold temperatures in the warehouse. 


Salary Description
$18-$20 an hour
