Description
The Asset Management Summer Intern will support the Asset Management team in monitoring and managing the Agency’s multifamily and affordable housing portfolio. This internship offers hands-on experience in MF real estate system conversion, financial analysis, property operations, compliance, and reporting; ultimately providing a foundation for a career in real estate finance or public-sector housing.

Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in reviewing property financial statements, budgets, and operating reports.
- Support the monitoring of property performance and compliance with DCHFA loan agreements and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct research on market trends, property valuations, and best practices in asset management.
- Assist with portfolio risk assessments and special projects as needed; such as system conversion tasks.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial modeling a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in affordable housing, real estate finance, or public-sector asset management.
