Asset Management Intern
Description

The Asset Management Summer Intern will support the Asset Management team in monitoring and managing the Agency’s multifamily and affordable housing portfolio. This internship offers hands-on experience in MF real estate system conversion, financial analysis, property operations, compliance, and reporting; ultimately providing a foundation for a career in real estate finance or public-sector housing.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in reviewing property financial statements, budgets, and operating  reports.
  • Support the monitoring of property performance and compliance with DCHFA loan agreements and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct research on market trends, property valuations, and best practices in asset management.
  • Assist with portfolio risk assessments and special projects as needed; such as system conversion tasks.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.


  QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real  Estate, Economics, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Strong  analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency  in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial modeling a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability  to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest  in affordable housing, real estate finance, or public-sector asset management.
