The Carpenters Training Center is looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Interior Systems Wood/House Framing Instructor to join our team on a part-time basis. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide hands-on training to members in the installation of wood/house framing, utilizing the correct tools, techniques, and materials. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the field, with the ability to guide members through the entire process of installation, preparation, and maintenance. This position requires strong communication skills, dedication to safety and quality, and a passion for educating the next generation of NYCDCC members.
Job Responsibilities:
· Design and implement instructional programs on installation, including understanding blueprints, preparation, and industry-best practices.
· Provide hands-on demonstrations and training preparations, material selection, installation techniques, and finishing processes.
· Assess member progress, provide individualized feedback and support to foster growth and skill development.
· Remain current on industry advancement, tools, techniques, and trends related to wood/house framing.
· Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to all safety and quality standards.
· Communicate effectively with members, fostering engagement and motivation in the learning process.
Qualifications & Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent; certifications in wood/house framing or a related trade preferred.
· At least 10 years of experience in wood/house framing.
· Deep knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques used in wood/house framing.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse group of learners.
· Basic proficiency with PC and tablets, as well as related software for instructional purposes.
Skills & Abilities:
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Ability to analyze reports and data relevant to instructional outcomes.
· Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing tasks through to completion.
· Able to work effectively individuals from diverse backgrounds.
