About the Role:

 We are seeking a Product Technician to join our team at Spartronics. The ideal candidate will collaborate with product engineers to develop and refine product-process documentation, create clear and effective work instructions, conduct failure analysis, troubleshoot production challenges, and configure workstations for optimal efficiency and performance.  



Responsibilities:

  • Design and optimize production programs for machines, while ensuring seamless updates and maintenance of work instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineers on diverse tasks, including conducting experimental designs, performing failure analysis, drafting Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reports, developing test procedures, driving process improvements, and creating detailed work instructions and efficient setups.
  • Provide hands-on production support, swiftly resolving defects and driving continuous improvements to enhance process efficiency and product quality.
  • Support process characterization, validation, and troubleshooting activities. 
  • Perform equipment setups, test execution, and data analysis for engineering trials. 
  • Identify and communicate issues affecting product manufacturability or process stability. 
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, and ITAR standards. 
  • Perform other duties or support other areas as needed based on business requirements or production flow.
  • Must be U.S. persons within the definition of ITAR, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance. (ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.) 
Requirements

 This requisition may be filled as either a Level 1 or a Level 2.    


Qualifications for a Level 1 Technician:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a technical, manufacturing, or engineering support role (internships and co-ops may qualify).
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with basic CAD tools.
  • Ability to follow established work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Comfortable performing routine equipment setups and basic troubleshooting under supervision.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and adapt to changing requirements.

Qualifications for a Level 2 Technician:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical, manufacturing, or engineering support role.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CAD tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and supporting process improvements in a production environment.
  • Ability to develop, edit, and improve technical documentation and work instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience mentoring or training junior staff.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively across multi-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications (for both levels):

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Electronics Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485).
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with equipment setup, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to support process characterization and validation activities.
  • Experience preparing or editing technical documentation or work instructions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting new product introductions (NPI) or product transfers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
  • Certifications relevant to electronics manufacturing or quality (e.g., IPC, ASQ).

Key Metrics and Focus Areas:

  • Engineering task turnaround time and accuracy. 
  • Support of successful process changes or product launches. 
  • Cross-functional collaboration and communication effectiveness. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Work in engineering labs or on the production floor as needed. 
  • Lift and move assemblies, test fixtures, or equipment up to 30 lbs. 
  • Use of hand tools, meters, or data collection devices. 
  • Visual and manual tasks requiring attention to fine detail.

Compensation: This is a non-exempt position. Compensation may be based on experience, qualifications, skill set, and prior work experience in the electronics manufacturing industry.
