Position Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and adherence to food safety standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to execute dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications

- Set up and stock assigned station with all necessary supplies

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations before, during, and after service

- Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner

- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures (HACCP guidelines)

- Assist with prep work including chopping, portioning, and storage of ingredients

- Monitor food quality and report any inconsistencies or issues to kitchen leadership

- Maintain proper labeling, dating, and rotation of food products (FIFO)

- Work collaboratively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth service

- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as needed


Requirements

 Qualifications

- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred

- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment

- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices

- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand for extended periods

- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds

- Work in hot, cold, and noisy environments
