Job Summary: 

MIMCO offers a unique, hands-on, rotational paid internship program in the commercial real estate industry, specifically focused on the management of retail shopping centers. Over the course of the program, interns may rotate through key departments—including Property Management, Acquisitions & Dispositions, Maintenance, Construction, Finance & Accounting, Human Resources—spending meaningful time in each. This structure is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of how each function contributes to the overall success of a retail real estate portfolio.

The goal of the internship is to provide exposure to MIMCO’s primary lines of business and the basics of owning, operating and investing in commercial real estate. The Intern will work in the Austin office and provide support in Acquisitions and Dispositions, Investment Management, and Leasing. This individual will be required to follow general instructions and perform related tasks requiring a basic level knowledge of commercial real estate principles and practices. This position exists in a temperature-controlled environment. 

Requirements

  

Essential/Key Functions: 

· Acquisitions: investment underwriting, market research, transactional and due diligence support 

· Dispositions: property level data analysis and organization, transactional support

· Investment Management: asset level reporting, investor letter preparation, investment case studies

· Leasing: market/rent comparable analysis, tenant research and outreach, lease admin and input into Yardi, drive to properties and open spaces for prospective tenants

· Administrative: perform various administrative tasks around the office as needed 

· Follow all safety guidelines and operate in a safe manner.

· Perform in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.

· Comply with MIMCO policies and procedures.

· Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary.

· Other duties as assigned by management


Minimum (Required) Qualifications:

Education

· Undergraduate student in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics or related and demonstrated interest in commercial real estate 

· Strong organizational, analytical, technical, interpersonal and communications skills 

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint 

· Available to work approximately 15-20 hours per week 

· Valid Texas Driver’s License

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Must be well organized.

· Must manage time well.

· Must be fluent in English 

· Good interpersonal and organizational skills. 

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Salary Description
$15/hr - $19/hr
