WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) …
Newport Mental Health is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Intern to join our team. As an HR Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of human resources while supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of the HR department.
Essential Duties:
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department including managing phone calls, scheduling meetings, and maintaining office supplies.
- Assist with organizing HR files, folders, and document version control
- Support upkeep of the HR shared drive and internal documentation systems
- Assist with data validation for benefits, payroll coordination, and compliance tracking
- Prepare draft summaries or reports for HR leadership review
- Maintain logs for audits, filings, and recurring HR requirements
- Assist with formatting and organizing HR policies, manuals, and SOPs
- Track policy revisions and version history
- Flag inconsistencies or missing documentation for HR review
- Support development of checklists and workflow documentation
- Participate in special HR projects as assigned
- Maintain employee files and databases, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations updating of employee data and reports.
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU…
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Psychology, or a related field
- Able to maintain flexible work schedule.
- Able to demonstrate professional work ethic.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
