Job Title: Fabrication Machinist – Night Shift (Lathe Operator Focus)

Position Summary:
The Fabrication Machinist is responsible for supporting fabrication operations with a primary focus on operating and setting up lathe equipment. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work across multiple areas of fabrication as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, and committed to producing quality components that meet specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate lathe machines to produce precision parts according to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
- Perform tooling changes, machine adjustments, and routine machine setups
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Support other fabrication processes as needed, including drilling, sawing, and material handling
- Assist with material preparation and movement throughout production
- Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all PPE requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned, which may include occasional travel
Qualifications:
- Previous lathe operation or machining experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Experience using measuring tools preferred
- Willingness to be cross-trained in multiple areas
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent bending, lifting, and movement
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 80+ lbs
- Manual dexterity required to operate machinery, tools, and measuring equipment
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with temperatures that vary seasonally
Work Schedule:
Full-time, Monday–Friday. Overtime may be required based on production demands.
