Position Summary
Join a team delivering critical underground electric infrastructure that powers communities across Michigan. As a Project Coordinator – Electric Operations, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of electric construction projects—from planning through closeout.
This position works closely with Project Managers, field leadership, and customers to keep projects organized, on schedule, and within budget. It’s a fast-paced, high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in both office and field environments and wants to grow within utility construction operations.
This role supports underground electric distribution work, including conduit systems, URD, duct banks, vault installations, and related infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
Project Coordination & Administration
- Support Project Managers with day-to-day coordination of underground electric construction projects
- Track schedules, milestones, manpower, and material needs
- Maintain organized project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, and correspondence
- Coordinate communication and documentation flow between field crews and office teams
- Assist with project startup packages and closeout documentation
Financial & Cost Tracking
- Support job cost tracking, budget updates, and production reporting
- Assist with monthly billing, cost-to-complete reviews, and change order documentation
- Track purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and material receipts
- Help reconcile quantities for conduit, wire, vaults, concrete, and restoration work
Field & Customer Coordination
- Act as a liaison between Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel
- Coordinate inspections, utility interactions, and customer-related communications
- Support responses to customer requests and schedule updates
- Represent the company professionally in day-to-day interactions
Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Support compliance with MIOSHA, customer safety requirements, and company HS&E programs
- Assist with tracking training, certifications, and required documentation
- Ensure project records are accurate, complete, and submitted on time

What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 1–5 years of experience in construction project coordination, project controls, or a related field
- Strong understanding of construction documentation, scheduling, and job cost tracking
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to visit project sites as needed
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening, participate in random drug testing, and maintain a satisfactory driving record (MVR)
Preferred Experience
- Experience in underground electric, utility, civil, or infrastructure construction
- Familiarity with electric utility work (URD, conduit systems, duct banks, vaults)
- Experience supporting field operations and construction crews
