JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment in a wallpaper factory setting. This role requires a strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively. This position provides strong electrical and mechanical support for in-house repairs, installation, preventative maintenance, etc.
This position works on a 1st shift schedule, M-F 6:00am - 2:00pm.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe handling of tools and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electrical and mechanical systems, including motors, pumps, conveyors, control systems, wiring, and other industrial equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning and longevity of equipment, such as lubrication, cleaning, inspections, and adjustments.
- Install new equipment and machinery, including electrical wiring, control panels, conduit, and mechanical components. Assist with facility upgrades and modifications as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety. Suggest and implement solutions to recurring problems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections within the CMMS program. Order necessary parts when needed.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel, production teams and supervisors to ensure efficient operations and minimize downtime.
- Coordinator contractor work as needed or assigned by leadership.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-5 years of proven experience as an electro-mechanical technician or a similar role in an industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
- Skilled in using various hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing devices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and automation systems is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend and climb for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to use a ladder up to 12ft. on a regular basis.
- Must pass a physical demands test.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Manufacturing plant floor. Subject to extreme heat during combustion oven work. Occasional work performed outside as needed, including winter months.
- Industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- May require occasional overtime and weekend work.
