Description
We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to support and administer a comprehensive Hearing Conservation Program (HCP) in an occupational health setting. This role is responsible for conducting audiometric testing, monitoring employee hearing health, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Job duties
- Conduct baseline, annual, and follow-up audiometric testing for employees exposed to occupational noise
- Identify and document Standard Threshold Shifts (STS) and initiate appropriate follow-up actions
- Educate employees on hearing conservation, proper use of hearing protection, and noise exposure risks
- Ensure compliance with OSHA Hearing Conservation Standard
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical surveillance records
- Calibrate and maintain audiometric equipment in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with occupational health staff, safety teams, and management
- Coordinate referrals for further medical evaluation when needed
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Completion of a CAOHC-approved Occupational Hearing Conservationist (OHC) certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe)
- Minimum of 1–3 years of nursing experience (occupational health or related field preferred)
- Ability to obtain secret or equivalent clearance (current clearance preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in occupational health, employee health, or industrial settings
- Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety regulations
- Experience working on federal or government contracts
