Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Able to decipher blueprints explaining how to weld together multiple materials
- Welds according to GMAC, FCAW, and SAW procedures
- Ability to use Cutting Torch and Grinder
- Uses MIG welder to assemble fabricated metal products in an efficient manner to maximize production.
- Operates the equipment in a safe manner and reports hazards associated with the equipment or its operators to the Safety Director and Maintenance Department.
- Produces strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous, and consistent.
- Follows required procedures and uses appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in the assembly process.
- Maintains/produces a level of output that will minimize production delays.
- Communicates effectively with other workers to direct personal workflow.
- Assist other individuals in area when needed.
- Provides expertise to other welders in fitting materials together for welding
- Proficient in weld call outs and WPS
- Proficient in tape measure reading
- Ability to fit multiple components together with tight tolerances
- Lays out, positions, and secures parts according to specifications
- Sets up welding equipment and installs wires in machines
- Ability to pass in house Level 2 weld /fit test
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of the welding process and equipment.
- Ability to weld vertical, flat, and overhead welds with good penetration and a quality appearance.
- Ability to operate a plasma cutter and acetylene torches.
- Good communications skills relative to supervisor and other related departments.
- Math skills including fractions and angles.
- Ability to read tape measures and angle finders.
- Ability to read blueprint drawings and cut lists.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds.
- Physical ability to work and weld in awkward positions such as kneeling, lying down, and overhead.
- Ability to climb and work from a ladder.
- Ability to operate various shop tools including power and manually operated wrenches.
- Trained in forklift and overhead crane operation.
- Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation
- Respectfully takes direction from supervisor or manager
- Wear personal protective equipment in the form of goggles and welding helmets with dark face plates, heavy leather gloves and protective long sleeve jackets
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
3 years of experience preferred.

Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Training, Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Preferred Certifications: FCAW
Preferred Licenses: N/A
Training: Forklift, Crane Operation, Automated Welding Systems, API/ISO and Epicor.
