Position Description
This is a critical role within Matchday & Growth Marketing, responsible for supporting the execution of integrated marketing campaigns and building grassroots relationships in local markets to drive awareness, ticket sales, and overall revenue for U.S. Soccer matches. This role will also contribute to consumer products revenue through growth marketing initiatives.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Matchday & Growth Marketing, this position plays a key role in supporting marketing efforts for U.S. Soccer-controlled Senior National Team (SNT) matches and ancillary events, helping to drive audience growth and revenue.
This role is essential in coordinating matchday marketing efforts in partnership with local market organizations, including CVBs, MLS and NWSL clubs, youth organizations, and other professional sports franchises.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support partnerships with grassroots organizations (CVBs, local sports commissions, tourism boards, MLS and NWSL clubs, youth clubs, and other professional teams) in match markets to help execute strategic marketing campaigns that drive awareness and ticket sales.
- Assist in campaign execution and project management, particularly in coordination with Local Organizing Committees (LOCs), ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Manager, Growth Marketing and external agencies to help execute paid performance marketing campaigns aligned to ROAS goals and key fan growth audiences.
- Partner with Lifecycle Marketing to support optimization of owned channels (email, web, app) to drive engagement and ticket conversions among existing U.S. Soccer fans.
- Work cross-functionally with brand and marketing teams (and agency partners where applicable) to help develop and deploy compelling content and creative assets for matchday campaigns.
- Coordinate and manage incoming creative requests with the internal creative team, ensuring assets align with key storylines, growth drivers, and brand objectives.
- Track, report, and analyze campaign KPIs, providing insights and recommendations to improve performance.
- Support day-to-day operations of growth marketing initiatives, including asset trafficking, reporting, budget tracking (YOY), and coordination across organic and paid media efforts.
- Stay informed on growth marketing trends and best practices across grassroots, digital, and performance marketing channels.
Assist in testing and optimizing marketing tactics (creative, messaging, channels, offers) to continuously improve campaign performance. - Support the integration of player-driven and storytelling content into campaigns to enhance fan connection and drive conversions.
- Help manage campaign calendars and ensure alignment across paid, owned, and earned media channels.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong record of academic and/or professional achievement
- 1–3 years of experience in marketing, with exposure to digital marketing and performance media
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Foundational understanding of digital and traditional marketing channels
- Demonstrated leadership, commitment, and excellence through extracurricular activities (e.g., athletics, military, volunteer work, etc.)
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly
- Team-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- General knowledge of soccer
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) and travel up to 20% for matches
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in the sports industry
- Passion for soccer and a deep knowledge of the soccer landscape in the United States
- Spanish or bilingual language skills a plus
