POSITION SUMMARY  

As a Lifeguard, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our guests at the pool. This professional must be a responsible and attentive individual. This is a vital position that requires strong swimming skills, knowledge of first aid, and the ability to handle emergency situations.  

This position is Temporary/Seasonal and non-exempt under the FLSA Act.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILTIES

  •   Ensures that the rules and regulations of the swimming pool are followed to maintain a safe swimming environment. 
  •  Monitor the pool area to ensure the safety of all guests 
  •  Administers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and uses automated external defibrillator (AED) when needed. 
  •  Contacts emergency medical personnel when a serious injury occurs. 
  •  Performs occasional pool cleaning, including pool deck, restrooms and maintenance tasks such as vacuuming the pool and cleaning the drains. 
  •  Checks the pool water by conducting chemical tests; maintains cleanliness of the water by adding the proper pool chemicals.
  • Collects applicable pool admission fees and works in the concession stand when scheduled. 
  •  Provides swimming lessons when needed. 
  •  Performs other related duties as assigned. 


QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION   

  •  Must be a certified Lifeguard.
  •  Willing to work night shifts and weekends.
  •  Ability to swim proficiently and confidently in deep water. 
  •  Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations. 
  •  Physical stamina to perform rescues and assist with heavy lifting. 
  •  Previous experience in lifeguarding or related field is preferred. 
  •  Extensive knowledge of and ability to administer or use first aid, CPR, AED, and other lifesaving techniques. 
  •  Excellent observational skills. 
  •  Ability to enforce pool regulations and rules.
