JOB DESCRIPTION


Position Title: Development Operations & Event Systems Manager


Employment Classification: Full-time; Hourly; Non-Exempt

 

Shift: Monday- Friday, 8:30 am-5:00 pm with occasional weekends and nights for events


Reports to: Director of Development Operations

Position Summary:


The Manager, Development Operations & Event Systems plays a key role in driving fundraising success by overseeing the systems, data, and event platforms that power revenue generation at Orangewood Foundation and Samueli Academy.


The Manager, Development Operations & Event Systems is responsible for the day-to-day execution of development operations while also leading the technical build and delivery of fundraising events. This position ensures that donor data is accurate, gifts are processed correctly, and event platforms- from registration to auctions—are executed seamlessly.


Requirements

Major Areas of Responsibility:


Development Operations

  • Serve as the primary administrator for Raiser’s Edge NXT, managing donor records, gift tracking, pledges, and opportunities to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Process gifts, including complex and multi-part donations, and coordinate closely with Finance on invoicing and monthly reconciliation using Financial Edge.
  • Create and maintain database structure (fields, attributes, codes) to support segmentation, campaigns, and reporting.
  • Lead data imports and exports across platforms (Constant Contact, event platforms, peer-to-peer tools, Excel) to support fundraising efforts.
  • Maintain data hygiene through ongoing audits and cleanup projects.
  • Support donor and prospect research, list segmentation, and reporting to strengthen fundraising strategy and stewardship.


Event Systems & Execution

  • Serve as the internal lead for all fundraising event platforms (e.g., Greater Giving or similar systems), managing full lifecycle setup and execution.
  • Build and manage event registration sites, peer-to-peer fundraising pages, auctions, sponsorship packages, and bidder experiences.
  • Oversee item procurement tracking, package setup, and auction configuration within event systems.
  • Manage payment processing, revenue tracking, and reconciliation for all fundraising events.
  • Ensure accurate integration and data flow between event platforms and Raiser’s Edge, including attendee data, gifts, and fundraising activity.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide real-time support during events (registration, bidding, checkout, etc.).
  • Train staff and volunteers on event technology and processes to ensure smooth execution.
  • Support run-of-show execution with a focus on revenue-driving components (auctions, paddle raises, donor moments).
  • Oversee event check-in and check-out processes, ensuring an efficient and positive guest experience.
  • Assist with pre-event setup and post-event reconciliation, reporting, and data cleanup.
  • Additional duties as assigned by direct supervisor.


Knowledge, Skill, and Experience Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years in development operations, fundraising, or event management.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge/NXT preferred.
  • Experience with event fundraising platforms (Greater Giving, GiveSmart, Causevox, etc.)
  • Strong Excel and data management skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain discretion and professionalism when working with confidential donor and organizational information.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events or deadlines.
  • Possess a valid California driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance. Position requires DMV clearance.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Position may require use of personal vehicle. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, typing, bending and lifting up to approximately 50 lbs. (i.e. tables, chairs, food, water, etc.). 
  • Modification to work schedule may be made based on needs of the Foundation.

Salary Description
$31.85- $42.50 per hour
