Description

The Distribution Facility Manager coordinates, organizes, and oversees all activities involved in the identification, acquisition, production, and distribution of the company goods of Marco Industries Canada. This position includes coaching, directing, training, and giving performance feedback to employees.

Requirements

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field with experience in Supply Chain Management

• 3-5 years of warehouse management and purchasing experience required

• Supervisory experience preferred.

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Business Central or general ERP systems.

• Valid driver’s license.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Act as primary site contact with manufacturing partners

• Responsible for initiating, coordinating, enforcing processes, personnel policies and safety procedures.

• Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations for Apopka warehouse and 3PL’s

• Collaborates with all necessary departments or stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain

• Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.

• Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.

• Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or logistics companies.

• Advisor as required to product development team

• Ensures compliance with federal, state law and local warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements, enforcing adherence to best practices, advising management on needed actions.

• Establishing and enforcing best practices for inventory control and order fulfillment.

• Responsible for inventory controls including conducting physical counts & reconciling with company systems.

• Maintains physical condition of warehouse including design layouts; inspecting equipment; and requesting work orders for repair, requisition, or replacement

• Training and performance management for all site employees

• Perform accident investigations including documentation as required by both company policy and labor laws

• Identifies optimal logistics procedures with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution.

• Assesses the need for equipment and staffing; provide recommendations to ensure efficiency

• Maintains accurate inventories of materials and supplies across company, site, and warehouse locations.

• Supports coordination of engineering changes, product expansions, and new launches to ensure smooth material and production transitions.

• Evaluates supplier performance for quality and delivery; partners cross-functionally to identify and qualify new suppliers.

• Perform other duties assigned by Management.

Supervisory Responsibility

• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.

• Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the department.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to extreme. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position may require standing for longs periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or tools; reach with hands and arms; balance; or stoop. May be exposed to weather temperature conditions prevalent at the time. Office work using technology daily, i.e. fax, email, copier, scanner, phone and computer-related tasks and responsibilities. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and the hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Performance standards

• Annual performance appraisal based on established job responsibilities and performance goals.

• Annual performance goal targets established between the supervisor and employee.
