Overview
Synapse ITS is looking for a Process Engineering Summer Intern to support our manufacturing operations in Greenville. This is a hands-on opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and gain exposure to how production processes are developed, documented, and improved.

You’ll be involved in continuous improvement efforts, process documentation, and day-to-day manufacturing support in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do
You’ll support process improvement initiatives and help optimize production workflows.

  • Assist with developing and updating work instructions and process documentation
  • Support time studies and help maintain production standard times
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and waste reduction
  • Assist with process audits to identify improvement opportunities
  • Help analyze production data to support decision-making
  • Support troubleshooting efforts related to production issues, scrap, and downtime
  • Assist with basic Design of Experiments (DOE) and data collection activities
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams
  • Take on additional projects that support manufacturing and process improvement

Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Interest in manufacturing, process improvement, or operations
  • Basic understanding of Lean, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma concepts is a plus
  • Exposure to data analysis, Excel, or technical documentation is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear communication and documentation skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
