Position Summary

A Procurement Intern supports the procurement team by assisting with sourcing, vendor communication, and purchase order management. This role provides hands-on experience in procurement processes, cost analysis, and supplier coordination.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers, vendors, and service      providers
  • Help prepare and process purchase orders and track deliveries
  • Maintain procurement records, contracts, and supplier databases
  • Support price comparisons and cost analysis for goods and services
  • Communicate with vendors regarding order status, pricing, and availability
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with demand forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
  • Provide administrative support to the procurement or supply chain team
Requirements

  Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Basic understanding of procurement or supply chain concepts (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities

  • Ability to analyze data and generate reports
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours)
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials required
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environment
  • Visual acuity to read measuring tools, drawings, and detect quality defects
  • Must pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings (e.g., lifting assessment, vision test, hearing test, etc.)
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection

Work Environment 

Manufacturing floor with exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp materials, and moderate to loud noise. May be exposed to hot or cold environments depending on season. Work schedule may include overtime or weekend shifts as needed.

Salary Description
$25/hour
