Summary: The Catering Coordinator is the primary point of contact for clients and bridges the gap between their vision and our kitchen and service teams. This role requires a unique blend of high-level organization and sales savvy to ensure every order is prepped, safely transported, and professionally staged on-site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Confirm catering orders with clients and communicate accurately with our Cuisine, Bakery, Floral, Wine teams to ensure everyone is on the same page.
- Handle inquiries, conduct site tours, and guide clients through menu selections to maximize revenue while meeting their budget.
- Assist with coordinating all event details including staffing, rentals (linens, glassware), transportation, and floral arrangements.
- Quality-check orders for accuracy. Ensure packed meals, baked goods, and floral arrangements are secured for transport to prevent damage.
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport orders to corporate offices, event spaces, and private residences.
- Manage catering equipment, ensure everything is returned, cleaned, and organized after events.
- Process deposits and manage final billing.
- Contributes to business development by identifying new market opportunities and converting leads to long-term catering accounts.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two- three years related experience and/or training in catering, hospitality, or event planning. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate of Culinary Institution a plus.
A valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record are required. Comfortable driving a van or light truck is a plus.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. As well as the ability to juggle multiple calendars, dietary restrictions, and delivery routes.
