Position Title: Clinical Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Nursing

Job Summary

As a Clinical Coordinator, you will support the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the daily operations of nursing services according to the facility’s rules, regulations, and guidelines. This position involves ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, improving the quality of patient care, and enhancing departmental efficiency. The Clinical Coordinator also serves as a liaison between staff and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and overseeing nursing services to ensure high standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in developing and implementing nursing policies, procedures, and protocols aimed at upholding the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Assist in coordinating staff schedules to ensure optimal staffing levels for each shift and to meet the needs of all departments.
  • Prior to the weekly IDT meeting held every Thursday, it is essential to conduct interviews with all patients. In the event of the Director of Nursing's absence, the Clinical Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary teams during the IDT meeting.
  • Ensure strict compliance with state and federal regulations, including infection control protocols and safety standards.
  • Assist in the maintenance of precise patient records, treatment plans, and other documentation to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Director of Nursing, nursing staff, and other departments to facilitate open communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the nursing service departments to ensure that all nursing service personnel are meeting the acceptable nursing standards in performing their work assignments; promptly report any findings to the appropriate leadership personnel.
  • In the Clinical Educator's absence, the Clinical Coordinator takes charge and collaborates with the Director of Nursing to develop in-service training programs for the nursing staff, including overseeing staff onboarding.
  • Assist in preparing the department matrix for the monthly QAPI presentation.


Supervisory Requirements (if applicable):

This position supervises the LTAC and the clinical teams: Unit Clerks, CNA’s RN’s, LVN’s, Tele-Techs, and Clinical Supervisors.  


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education: LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) or RN (Registered Nurse) program
  • Licensure: Active and unencumbered nursing license.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.

Salary Description
$83200/yr - $124,800/yr
