Job Summary:
Plant Prefab is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Forklift Operator with experience operating Gradall and/or reach forklifts. This role is responsible for safely transporting, loading, and unloading materials while supporting daily warehouse or production operations. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, understands load stability, and follows all safety protocols. This person will be required to integrate well within a cross-functional team that includes all trades in the factory to ensure the production operations are set up for success. All work is to be carried out safely while adhering to Plant Prefab’s quality guidelines, policies, and standards while driving the culture and successful tactical implementation of such. The position will be based in our Tejon Ranch, CA facility and report to the Operations Manager.
Core Responsibilities:
- Operate Gradall and/or reach forklifts to move materials throughout the facility.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, racks, and storage areas.
- Safely transport oversized, heavy, or sensitive materials.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory movements and assist with material tracking.
- Assist with general warehouse or yard duties as needed.
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals.
- Ensure all forklift driving work is always carried out in a safe manner that complies with all environmental and OSHA safety regulations.
- Identify non-value-added operations in the organization and propose new operational procedures to achieve leaner processes.
- Consider health, safety, sustainability and the environment in all decisions and actions.
- Execute various other activities as assigned to support the success of the organization.

- This position will require cross training for the other positions in the Plant Prefab Materials Management team.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience operating forklifts, specifically Gradall and/or reach forklifts
- Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain/renew)
- Strong understanding of load charts, weight distribution, and safe lifting practices
- Experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing, or construction environment preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal, with ability to convey information effectively to individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.

- Knowledge in construction materials, best practices, and schedule management.
