From your PASSION to ours
 

Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring an Export Intern based in Buffalo, NY.
 

This position reports to the Assistant Director of Export Sales and Marketing and performs a variety of duties in support of Export and Import Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service. The intern will work a minimum of 20 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
 

From your EXPERTISE to ours
 

Key responsibilities for this position include: 

  • Work with import and export teams and cross-functional stakeholders to understand and document existing processes
  • Coordinate artwork, packaging, and recipe changes on existing products
  • Write and circulate project approval documentation
  • Implement changes with customers and internal departments including QA, Industrial, and Purchasing
  • Monitor export- and import-specific packaging inventories and obsolescence
  • Provide product information to Lactalis subsidiaries globally to explore export sales opportunities, including dielines, specification sheets, and pricing
  • Manage projects with Lactalis subsidiaries, outside vendors, and internal teams to launch new SKUs
  • Develop and manage retro planning with clear steps and deadlines to ensure on-time launches
  • Develop packaging in collaboration with customers and Purchasing, including artwork approvals with QA and Legal
  • Manage product launch processes to completion while meeting all milestone dates
  • Maintain and update export product catalogs in coordination with marketing teams
  • Assist the export sales and marketing team with ongoing initiatives
  • Research U.S. and export market intelligence and communicate trends and innovations to global partners
  • Develop and coordinate cross-functional project plans and critical paths
  • Gather input from stakeholders and senior management to ensure clarity on project scope, objectives, and changes
  • Support additional marketing projects for domestic products as assigned
Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:


Education 

  • Recent college graduate or current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Business
  • Majors in Supply Chain, Marketing, Business Management, Economics, French, or a related field will also be considered
  • Current students must be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week

Experience 

  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret business information, and prepare reports
  • Comfort working with teams outside formal lines of authority to accomplish goals

Certifications and specific knowledge 

  • Strong computer proficiency including AS400, Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with sales reporting systems
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications and regulations
  • French or Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required
