Job Summary:
The Food & Beverage Intern is primarily responsible for assisting the Food & Beverage Director in various aspects of the Food & Beverage (F&B) Operations at the Hall of Fame Village. These responsibilities may include opening and closing the Concessions as needed, food prep and production, stocking, assisting in monthly inventory, delivery of products from vendors, working with our third party F&B operators, and training Concession attendants.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Provide superior guest service to visitors, guests, clients, vendors, and staff.
- Responsibility for assisting in administration functions including preparing opening/closing checklists, typing standard operating procedures, and counting inventory.
- Responsible for ensuring the quality of foods and services in order to maintain the utmost satisfaction of guests.
- Responsible for preparation and presentation of all food items, continuously, ensuring a high level of professional and clean display.
- Responsible for greeting guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner, generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative environment. This includes training Concession attendants on greeting Guests.
- Take and fulfill orders for food and beverage products.
- Operate POS; responsible for accepting payment from guests and making change as necessary.
- Responsible for end-of-day cash procedures and counting drawers with Concession attendants.
- Assuring the Concessions is fully cleaned, including all equipment and re-stocked at the end of the day.
- Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
- During downtime, this team member will support other areas of the campus as needed (examples: Center for Performance, Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, ForeverLawn Sports Complex, Fan Engagement Zone).
- Responsible for cooking and packaging food products which are prepared to order or kept warm until sold. Assuring par levels are maintained for group size.
- Responsible for protecting public health by operating safe and sanitary facilities.
- Ensure all food and beverage areas are maintained in a safe and sanitary manner by adhering to regular cleaning and waste management disposal, governed by regulating bodies.
- Training staff on all handwashing functions, 3 compartment sink functions, food temperature functions, food storage functions.
- Address complaints and concerns of visitors, guests, clients, vendors, and staff and work professionally to create positive and guest-services oriented solutions.
- All other duties as assigned.
SEASONAL/HOURLY/NON-EXEMPT
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program.
- Must be at least 21 years of age due to alcohol sales requirements.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with co-workers, volunteers, management, clients, vendors, and guests to help create a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative event environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends & holidays as necessary) is required.
- Must be a flexible and reliable team player, both within own department and entire organization.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of performance, working quickly without compromising quality.
- Must have the ability to demonstrate uncompromised judgment and discretion regarding confidential matters while maintaining confidentiality.
- Proven ability in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements for Position:
- The ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
- The ability to work in various Ohio weather conditions, inside and outside.
- The ability to work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operate phones, computers, copiers/scanners, and other office equipment.
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain, steps, or in construction zones.
- The ability to see and respond to hazardous situations.
- The ability to sit, stand, squat, bend, stoop, twist, walk, and complete repetitive hand and write motions for periods of time as required for the position.
