Description

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Backend Engineer II to deliver high-quality APIs and workflow services with a focus on interoperability and AI-enablement use cases. You will have growing responsibilities within the engineering team, working closely with senior engineers to develop robust backend solutions that support healthcare workflows. 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain API endpoints and backend services.
  • Implement business workflows, validations, and integrations across internal systems and partner APIs.
  • Assist with FHIR API development and resource mapping under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Help package approved services for AI consumption by creating well-structured service interfaces and applying MCP-related patterns.
  • Write unit tests, integration tests, and maintain clear developer documentation.
  • Participate in design discussions, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of backend development experience.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, authentication, and service-layer design principles.
  • Experience with relational databases and data transformation processes.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data models or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn FHIR concepts.
  • Experience deploying or supporting services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and solid engineering fundamentals.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proficiency with Python, Java, Node.js, or similar backend languages commonly used for API development.
  • Exposure to AI integration workflows or tool-based service patterns such as MCP.

Salary Description
$95,000.00 - $105,000.00
