Description
The Writer/Editor II supports the development, revision, and publication of Army doctrine and policy documents related to Operational Contract Support (OCS). This role ensures that all documentation is accurate, consistent, and compliant with Army and TRADOC publishing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Doctrine Development & Writing
- Draft, edit, and revise doctrinal publications, manuals, and guidance documents
- Develop:
- Initial Drafts
- Final Drafts
- Final Signature Drafts
- Ensure technical accuracy and clarity of content
Editorial Review & Quality Control
- Edit documents for grammar, clarity, formatting, and consistency
- Ensure compliance with:
- TRADOC Reg 25-30 / 25-36
- Army publishing standards
- Maintain document version control and audit trails
Comment Adjudication
- Manage and adjudicate stakeholder comments
- Develop and maintain Comment Resolution Matrices (CRMs)
- Incorporate feedback into revised documents
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work with SMEs, leadership, and working groups
- Participate in doctrine review boards and meetings
- Ensure alignment between operational requirements and published doctrine
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain documentation repositories
- Prepare status reports and deliverables
- Support publication timelines and milestones
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Active Secret clearance
- 5+ years experience in technical writing or editing
- Experience with military doctrine or government publications preferred
Salary Description
90,000 - 125,000
