About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead and oversee commercial construction projects from award through completion. This is a field-driven role requiring strong leadership, financial oversight, and coordination with internal teams, subcontractors, and general contractors.
The ideal candidate has a background in plumbing or mechanical systems (HVAC) and is comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple mechanical construction projects from kickoff through closeout
- Lead and direct project engineers, superintendents, and field crews
- Conduct regular job site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality
- Track and manage project budgets, costs, and profitability
- Forecast and manage manpower needs across active and upcoming projects
- Procure materials and equipment while ensuring cost efficiency and timely delivery
- Review and manage purchase orders, materials, and vendor performance
- Coordinate with general contractors and attend project meetings
- Ensure all change orders are documented and approved prior to execution
- Monitor project schedules and adjust resources to meet deadlines
- Enforce safety standards, PPE compliance, and job site organization
- Provide consistent project updates to leadership
Work Environment
This role operates in both office and field environments and requires regular job site visits.
Compensation
- Salary: $80,000 – $105,000 annually, commensurate with experience
- Opportunity for growth within a mechanical construction team
Requirements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Mechanical Project Management
- Plumbing background preferred; HVAC experience considered
- 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in construction
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and installation processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and manpower planning
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Bluebeam
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Salary Description
