Novaspect, Inc., an Emerson Impact Partner and a global leader in automation systems and solutions, is seeking a motivated and curious Control Systems Engineer Intern to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in industrial automation and control systems while working alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects.
As an intern, you will contribute to meaningful project work while developing foundational skills in control system design, configuration, and testing. You will be exposed to the full project lifecycle and play a supporting role in delivering high-quality automation solutions to our customers.
Control Systems Engineer Intern Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support engineering teams in the design, configuration, and documentation of control systems
- Assist in developing and reviewing control system designs and project documentation
- Gain exposure to Distributed Control Systems (DCS) such as DeltaV and related technologies
- Participate in internal testing and validation of control system configurations
- Support development of simulation tools and test environments
- Assist with preparation for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Participate in team meetings, design reviews, and project discussions
- Help organize and maintain project files, documentation, and standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within engineering processes and standards
- Learn and apply industry standards, best practices, and internal development procedures
Control Systems Engineer Intern Education/Experience:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or related field)
- Interest in industrial automation, control systems, or process engineering
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Exposure to programming, control systems, or industrial software is a plus but not required
Control Systems Engineer Intern Other Requirements:
- Strong interest in control systems, automation, and industrial processes
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a hands-on engineering environment
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team

Control Systems Engineer Intern Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work extended hours on a computer
- Ability to work in an office and occasional industrial environment
Control Systems Engineer Intern Schedule & Location
- Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
- Location: Onsite in our Channhassen, MN office
Control System Engineer Intern Pay:
Compensation is based on the upcoming academic year you will enter after completing the Internship:
- Sophomore year: $23.00/hr
- Junior year: $24.00/hr
- Senior year: $25.00/hr
- 5th year: $26.00/hr
