Job Summary
OMB is looking for a skilled Data Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our data warehouse infrastructure. You'll be the backbone of our data platform — building the pipelines, structures, and systems that power analytics and business intelligence across the organization, including the Power BI reports that drive decision-making. Job duties will include but not limited to: 

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data warehouse architecture using Snowflake; including databases, schemas, and table structures
  • Develop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and related Azure services
  • Implement data modeling best practices (star schema, snowflake schema, dimensional modeling) aligned with business needs
  • Manage data ingestion from diverse sources (APIs, databases, SaaS tools) into the data warehouse
  • Monitor, optimize, and tune Snowflake performance including virtual warehouses, clustering keys, and query optimization
  • Assist in building and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards — including data modeling in Power BI, writing DAX measures, and connecting reports to Snowflake and Azure data sources
  • Enforce data governance policies, access controls, and data quality standards
  • Collaborate with team members and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate these into solutions
  • Maintain documentation for data pipelines, schemas, and infrastructure


Primary Work Location and Schedule: 

· Hybrid work environment: schedule will require on-site work hours and allows optional home office hours for a portion of the work week

       o On-site: 3050 S Delaware Ave, Springfield MO 65804 

· 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday – Friday; occasional additional hours as needed

· Full-time – 40 hours per week average

· Travel may be required throughout OMB footprint


Position Requirements: 

· Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Computer Science or related discipline or prior work experience equivalent to:

      o  1 year experience with MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Azure Data Platform, Snowflake, Power BI, Python, Java, MS Power Platform, and SharePoint

· Strong experience in writing and editing documents and work products

· Ability to translate business data requests into technical requirements

· Disciplined in protecting and managing highly confidential information/material.

· Effective time management skills (capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks)

· Ability to be professional, composed, and assertive in all situations; respond with appropriate urgency to ensure requests are completed within expected timeframes/service level agreement. 

· Demonstrated self-motivation; productive, efficient, organized, accurate work output with no supervision while working independently and within a team environment.

· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with daily collaboration with individuals to facilitate production needs and audit parameters 

· Ability to apply strategic planning, activity coordination, and problem-solving techniques to complex issues of multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
