As a Grocery Department Manager, you’ll oversee daily grocery operations, lead team members, manage inventory and merchandising, and help deliver an outstanding shopping experience in a fast-paced grocery store environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee daily operations of the grocery department
  • Manage inventory levels, product ordering, merchandising, and waste reduction
  • Monitor sales trends and implement strategies to improve profitability
  • Ensure shelves and displays are stocked, organized, and visually appealing
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with product questions
  • Supervise, train, lead, and develop grocery department team members
  • Ensure proper product storage, rotation, and food safety compliance
  • Collaborate with store leadership on pricing, promotions, and marketing initiatives
  • Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and operational standards
  • Operate equipment including pallet jacks, carts, and box cutters safely


What We’re Looking For

  • Previous grocery retail, merchandising, or department management experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Knowledge of grocery store operations, inventory, and merchandising strategies
  • Ability to analyze sales trends and department performance data
  • Familiarity with food safety and store safety regulations
  • Comfortable using technology, inventory systems, and reporting tools
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible full-time availability (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)


Work Environment

  • Fast-paced grocery store environment
  • Frequent exposure to refrigerated coolers and freezer areas
  • Standing for extended periods; lifting up to 50 lbs
